My primary area of interest is South Asian art and visual culture. My publications and research have examined a spectrum of subjects relating to art, patronage, and collecting in periods ranging from pre-modern to contemporary. In 2019-2020, as the Tagore National Scholar for Cultural Research I have researched the provenance of paintings that were acquired by Dr. M. S. Randhawa, the founder of the Government Museum and Art Gallery in Chandigarh, based on the archives of his official documents and correspondence.
I have also worked with the author and art historian B. N. Goswamy on the publication Oxford Readings in Indian Art (2018), supported by a research fellowship from the Raza Foundation, New Delhi. Prior to this, I was a curatorial fellow at the National Museum of Asian Art in Washington, D.C. My research has appeared in edited volumes and journals, including Artibus Asiae (Vol, 77, no. 2), as well as catalogues of museums and private galleries.
I am currently a PhD candidate in the department of History of Art at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.
